LazerXtreme with my brothers and sister (Sibs Play Day Part 1)

This is one thing I like best about letting go of a full-time job: I am regaining my family time in return.

Last week, my youngest brother (fourth grader Tim) and I spotted the Lazer Extreme area at the second floor of the Alabang Town Center (ATC). I told him that if all four of us siblings are complete next Saturday, we could probably play Laser Tag.

Of course, if you say something like that to Tim, he’d hound you everyday: “Ate, di ba sa Saturday maglalaro tayo?” Crikey. I almost thought I would be canceling the bonding session, since it coincided with my classmate’s scheduled field trip. Thank goodness the trip ended after lunch (will post about that soon), giving me enough time to rush back home and gather my siblings for the game.

Pau was disgruntled because I shook him out of his blissful sleep. Tim had been trying — and failing — to wake him up. He grew afraid that if he persisted, he’d get a scolding…so I barged into Pau’s room and yelled, “Let’s go! Let’s go! Laser Tag!”

That’s probably why he refused to look at the camera on the way there. Hehe.

“Why didn’t you bring extra shirts, Tim?” Alex asked. “I have nothing else here but Ate’s girly ‘Margarita’ shirt. And a floral dress. Your pick.” LOL. We bickered on our way to ATC because Tim and I didn’t bring extra clothes, which prompted the other two to call us the Stinky Team.

We couldn’t bring the camera inside because we knew it was going to be rough. We formed the Green Team. Hmph. personally, I still have a bone to pick with the Blue Team. (The Red Team is composed of cute little kids — so adorable that we sometimes let them shoot us.) Well, the Blue Team are about Tim’s age…but they might as well be little imps because three of them would keep ganging up on me.

The reason why my sister gained a lot of points is that whenever these kids would do that nasty caterpillar formation on me, I’d scream at her direction and she’d shoot their vests. Repeatedly. I ended up turning myself into bait just so my team could gain more points.

Anyway, we won. D-oh.

I’m not too happy about the individual results, though. Whoever it was that took second place, codename Blackwolf, well…he must have been regularly shooting that poor toddler from the Red Team. The cutie kid who had a nanny in tow.

I also suspect he’s from the Blue Team. Gr. Bitterness. (LOL)

It was a good game, though. It felt like I had a workout. Each game consists of only 20 minutes but that had been the longest 20 minutes of my life.

Since Pau, whose codename was Vortex, achieved the highest score, he was rewarded with a glass of iced tea.

Which he finished off before I could take a photo.

Of course, winning against a bunch of 12-year-olds, which my sister kept pointing out, isn’t really something to brag about. However, we have to consider that these tweens actually have more time to play and more money to spare (since it’s their parents that pay for their luxury). Plus, we’re such huge targets.

Ok, I’ll stop making excuses for bagging 4th now. Heh.

    @LyleM
    Yeah! It was really hot inside and if you're battling against brattinella tactics, you really will feel it's too long.

    @theairprince

    Oo nga eh kaso nakakaloka pag mga bata ang kalaro mo. Haha! Then again, I think the pawis and exercise come from the fact that you'd try to outmaneuver the tykes who have much more energy to spare.
