Sarimanok.PH: The reason why I haven’t been updating for the past few days is that I had been quite busy designing the completely art-devoted website I share with my design partner Cris. Had encountered a few problems here and there — mostly because DreamHost kept experiencing server-downtime for the past couple of days — so my design process has been slow. I’m just about to do the icons (those side bar h3’s will have to change). After that, I will be filling it up with content (which already exist in my Google Sites accounts).

Remember my problem a while back, where my site was being repeatedly removed from the Philippine arts category because I featured cinema? (Which led me to turn this skysenshi.com into a full-blown lifestyle blog.) Many people tend to forget that Philippine arts & culture isn’t just about visual arts. There’s music, literature, dance, theater, film, architecture. Recently, fashion has been recognized as one of our major forms of art, if the Freeway Art Ramon Valera collection is any indication. Speaking of which, I will be featuring the more artistic detail of that collection at Sarimanok.PH.

Sarimanok.PH aims to focus on all those forms that define Philippine art & culture. Meaning, we don’t want to concentrate on the Manila Art Scene only. We’ve been given a great opportunity to explore the multitude of crafts we have in this country. Plus, Sarimanok.PH will contain the joint portfolio of Beatrice Lapa and Cris Dumlao, multidisciplinary artists and interdisciplinary practitioners. This is actually a fun way to update our folios…since I’ve been lazy in updating it for the last 2 years.
