A couple of weeks ago, my sister Alex and fellow The Philippine Online Chronicles writer Kira were invited to InterContinental Manila by Great Cuts salon, which has celebrated hairstylist Angelo Justin as its Creative Partner.

When we first entered the event area, we saw the Great Cuts team painstakingly styling this beautiful model’s long hair. I suspect it took them hours to do that…

They actually chopped it all off as soon as all the media guests were settled in. Yoikes! They must really be very passionate about their craft if they spend this much work on hair.

Justin was trained by Vidal Sassoon and Toni & Guy and is known for his trademark, the patented “Precision Cut”. He has actually styled celebrities and beauty icons like Imelda and Imee Marcos, legendary Guess model Anna Nicole Smith, Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, KC Concepcion and Cory Quirino.

Of course my sister and I, being naturally curly, had to ask if they could actually work with hair like ours. Turns out they do consultations because each woman has different hair needs! And the great thing about them is that they always have promos. Right now they’re offering 30% discount on permanent blowdry, an offer that lasts until the end of summer.

Hehe, couldn’t resist taking photos of the food. Well, I only remembered to take pictures when I was already nibbling on the dessert. Meep.

I think this is some sort of a kiwi-mango concoction. It’s sort of like a flan and has the texture of gelatin.

Some deliciously creamy strawberry mousse and eclairs. I love eclairs and cream puffs so I took three pieces.

Anyway, I had lots of fun watching the creative hair artists do their work. Luckily, this event was held after office hours so I didn’t have to miss it. =^.^=
