Solo winners for the 2011 Online Model Search

Solo has just announced who their winners are. But first…check out the finalists. This is their first ever campaign photo shoot. There were 9 male and 8 female best entries, which I blogged about some time ago. You can view their entries here (and my personal opinions regarding some of the entries).

Notice that Solo’s Summer 2011 Collection of Stripes is all about vibrant colors and the wildest details on what could have been your regular summer apparel. They’re very striking and oh so hot! I can see how much these aspiring models have improved in terms of projection. They really look like they’re having fun!

And our winners are:

Phoebe Rutaquio, who modeled in “Slice of Glam”, which was photographed by Em Rejano.

And…

Mehran Khaledi, who modeled in “The Soloist”. His partner photographer and graphic designer is Louie Pariñas.
You might want to read their interview, which is posted at Skysenshi’s Hermitage. It’s a pretty interesting read, since I could practically feel our winning models’ excitement.

Solo Goodie Bag Contest:
In line with this happy news, I’m giving away a Solo goodie bag, containing: a pair of shades, a bracelet, and perfume, to one lucky reader.

All you need to do is either comment below or blog (leave the URL below) about your answer to the following question:

How will you spice up your summer?

Again, the winner will be picked based on the answers (creativity of insights etc.)

Additional points (OPTIONAL):

  • Like the Solo Model Search winners’ interview, which is posted at Skysenshi’s Hermitage. You may even leave a comment there if you want.
  • Spread the word about this blog post (announcement of winners) through various social networks. (+1 for FB, +1 for Twitter etc.)
  • Have people like your entry/comment. Although I prefer to look at the quality (content) of your entries, the number of likes your entry garners may help a little.

Contest ends on May 7, 2011 and winners will be announced on May 8 at 5PM.

Frolicking under the sun in an exotic island (Calaguas), marveling at a sea of clouds on top of Mt. Pulag, taking my breath away by the colorful hues of sunrise from Kiltepan Peak (Sagada), and taking a 13-hour road trip to Isabela-Cagayan — this is how I am spicing up my already hoooot summer! Traveling to places is my greatest teacher — so I make it a point to get off my couch and get on the road to see the world!

Don't settle for the run-of-the-mill resort outings and generic beach excursions. My family and I have prepared loads of trips to not-your-usual summer destinations. Explore the Philippines and sleep under the stars, along the beach! We will go Potipot Island which is located on Candelaria, Zambales.

We'll have lots of activities like beach, swim, camp out. Let's unwind, chill, and relax! Swim in clear blue waters, stroll along fine white sand, and enjoy the sweet serenity Potipot's sunset has to offer!

Travel worry-free because someone already paid for the expenses (that's the best part of it!) All we need is a sturdy pair of legs and a good sense of humor, and they will provide the equipments we need.

I plan to spice up my summer by traveling around the Metro like a tourist. I’m not going anywhere out of the country this summer, but I plan to search recommendations online about the must-see’s around the Metro. I plan to visit Intramuros, Quiapo, Chinatown, the National Museum, and Coconut Palace. I’m planning to wander around by myself, taking my sweet time to appreciate the offers of the metro. Who says you have to go out-of-town to enjoy summer?

I'll spice up my summer spending time with my highschool batchmates though I've spent my holy week with most of them in my hometown, I'll still find time to spend this coming weeks with my batchmates here in Manila. Though I had enough activities like swimming, hiking, watching movies, attending birthday parties last week, I am still welcome for more invitations. I wanna make up with those years that we've lost and I wanna hang out with them for the last summer of being jobless. haha!! (I am on the process of final interview/screening by my Hungarian employer.)

Being the youngest child of the family, it's so hard to part ways with them. I am using every second to spend a quality time with them especially to my cute nephews and nieces. Anytime soon, I'll be flying to Hungary to be spending my life with different cultures, people, places and seasons. As of the moment, I'm enjoying the heat of the Philippine summer though it makes me darker.

I'll take advantage that summer is here as I'm not so busy with my son's schooling, so I'll get the chance to be more serious making and experimenting with my hobby and that is baking. I'll try different cupcake flavors and frostings. I enjoy decorating the most and hopefully this hobby will grow into becoming my long lasting business. I'll keep on practicing and learning more about this stuff because this something that I really want to do and I think this is what I do best.

What better way to spice up my summer than go frolicking in a beach with my hubby? White sands, cool waves and some lovin' is sure to turn the heat up higher.

I had parasailed several times but I had never flown a kite. I had skied in the snow but I had yet to try the huge pool slide at the waterpark. I had experienced falling 13,500 feet from the sky (with a parachute, of course), but I had never even climbed a wall. I will spice up my summer by doing things I had never done before. Simple experiences that will leave a footprint on my soul.

I will spice up my summer by working on my healthy and my mind. A lot of things we neglect exercising our brains, most especially since the heat drives our lazy selves to just stay cooped up inside our homes. With this in mind, what better way to up our IQs by reading! =)

Another contest? Hmm..I'll try my luck with this one! I miss being my talkative self again, since my summer review classmates are so darn serious that they won't even give time to talk to anyone beyond five to six sentences. Sometimes I think I'll go insane from not speaking out my thoughts during review, but I really have to pass my licensure exam in order to take off my career as a newly graduate. Everyone's so immersed in their books that I can't even crack a joke!

You see, as much as I wanted to really make my after grad summer the most exciting one, I have to be very serious about this exam. But that shouldn't stop me from making this one the spiciest summer ever, and it will sizzle everyone's mind!

So how will I spice up my summer within the four walls echoing with the monotonous voices of the lecturers, you ask? That's simple. First, I will rock their world every single morning with a cheerful outfit (read: popping colors) and a loud “good morning”. I actually find it weird saying it in future tense when I already started doing it the other day. Apparently, I took many strangers by surprise, but I did get smiles and greets back. Isn't that a cool way to start the day? No one's done that before, and the mood did lighten up the whole day! Someone even asked me where I bought my colorful bangles, which I actually made myself.

Second, I will make the best lunches for my guy, who takes the classes with me. The food there is really salty and greasy, which will make our bodies flabby by the time we hit the beach at the end of the month! I'm new at bento meals, but so far I'm catching up! Those heart-shaped rice balls, and cute animal meats really picked us up halfway through the day! And people kept passing by and saying how delicious-looking our packed lunches are, that they are inspired to do the same. There's nothing that can make me happier than brightening other people's days, even if they are complete strangers. So why don't you try it, smile at a complete stranger (at the right place and time!) and brighten someone's day this summer!

Okay, so I'm really just letting out my contained thoughts. I'm not really expecting to win this, considering how boring my summer sounds, but that's all I got! haha! But once this is over, I'll have the grandest delayed-graduation vacation party ever! Can't wait! Have a great summer everyone!

This year we want to quenched our thirst for a heart-thumping adventure so were engaging our self to try something NEW and EXTREME for both of us. This would be our first time to step out of the ordinary and step into the world of extreme sports or activities. So, were going to try SKY DIVING in Tanauan Aerial Sports, Batangas! The perfect place to spice up our vacation! Tanauan is the self proclaimed skydiving capital of the Philippines. The drop zone is between Mt. Makiling and Taal Volcano, showcases some of the most spectacular scenery in the country! This surely spells F.U.N and E.X.T.R.E.M.E Adventure! Defenitely this will be the most exhilarating, breathtaking and highly rewarding experience of a lifetime! This will surely spice up our summer! Yeah?!! I really do hope I can open my eyes and enjoy the breathtaking scenery! Wish me luck! 🙂

As a working mom, summer is the only time I get to bond with my son more, and spend quality time together as a family with the hubby. This year, hubby and I planned to teach the kiddo something for summer. He gets to indulge with computer basics and games (both their hobbies) and I get to improve his speech and math skills with fun learning games. It may not be the ideal idea of fun but family time is fun time, and it's not something I'll trade for anything else. I'm sure a trip to the beach and to a garden resort can be arranged too! 🙂

Since most of the people now are going to beaches to spend their summer vacation, I myself will spice up the summer by attending dance workshop's Brand New Classes and
Camps to improve my skills which I can use in the next semester where one of my subjects is theatrical and dancing. Maybe I can go swimming but my priority is attending workshops.
