The Body Shop Spiced Vanilla

I took a break from my organic bath products when Rowena gave me The Body Shop Spiced Vanilla gift pack as a surprise prize (whatta tongue twister) for being her most frequent commenter. Haha!

What can I say, I read all my friends’ blogs everyday and comment every time I stumble across an interesting piece. Google Reader became my substitute for LiveJournal, especially when all my LJ friends began migrating into different blogging platforms and I needed them all to be in one interface. Reading all their thoughts and commenting on them is my little way of supporting them. I didn’t expect to be rewarded for it, but I suppose it’s very nice to feel appreciated somehow. Thanks, Ro! Hee.

Anyway, I remember watching Oprah and she said something about layering scents. That means, if your soap is cherry-scented, then your lotion and your cologne would last longer if they’re cherry-scented as well, provided that they’re all from the same brand.

This Spiced Vanilla set smells absolutely divine so you can imagine how gloriously yummy I’d feel every time I step out of the shower. Layering delicious vanilla makes my mouth water. I kid you not!

Both products, the bath & shower gel and the body lotion, have a light but smooth texture that feels heavenly on the skin. To keep the gel from running out fast, however, I use a sponge.

And uh, while doing product shots, I couldn’t resist taking a photo of my cat Kira, who had that guarded look that said, “Uh-oh, my human is taking photos again…she’s going to kick me out any minute now.”

Yeah, Kira’s the silliest cat we’ve ever had. She’s also responsible for breaking all of my sister’s Philippine Blog Award trophies…in this exact same area…

Hm. I think I just talked about three topics in one post. Hm. I think I will blame the 1,000-paged PhD dissertation my professor wrote — which I read today — for my current randomness. Heh.

I love layering scents — pero napulot ko ang tip na ito from Avon (thanks, advertising) — and I LOVE vanilla. I have vanilla everything (body wash, shampoo, fragrance, candles hahaha)!

Congrats on the Philippine Web Awards!

And I know I haven't said it, but thanks so much for commenting as often as you do on my blog. Nakakamiss rin yung LJ because everyone was there but when I started thinking that no one was probably reading my posts, lumipat na lang ako and started being a little less personal (syempre puro book reviews na). I'm really glad to know na kahit paano meron pa ring nagbabasa pala haha. Thanks, Bei 🙂

    Vanilla is teh lurve!!

    Re: Web Awards, thanks!

Nakakamiss nga talaga yung LJ kasi I remember I comment frequently there din. Remember medyo malalim ang mga problems ng mga tao dun and we were blogging on a very deep, personal level…so we were long-winded when it comes to commenting as well. I actually miss reading those personal thoughts. There was a point nga na wala na ako mabasang posts ng friends natin that I would resort to checking out my sister's LJ friends. -_-;;; Medyo di na rin sila active.

Whoops, may grammar error ako sa post, LOL. Now ko lang nakita. Edit edit edit.

Kira looks sweet! And yes, I learned layering scents when I worked at The Body Shop. And I love vanilla scent! (those are 3 random comments, too, in one paragraph. hehe)

you're correct. i asked a lady friend as to the secret of some women's lingering trail of scent. she said that i have to use one pack of the same brand or kind in one use. so what i do now is use D&G and Clinique alternately for my daily regimen, like D&G shower gel, to lotion, to perfume.

Haha, praning yan si Kira takot sa lahat ng bagay, unlike our old cat Xiu Mai who made our dogs run away in fright. Try mo yung vanilla line, it's super yummy smelling! 😀

Tama. We were invested in our friends' posts because they were personal, not for public consumption. It really served as a journal. I try to be more personal on Plurk but it's not exactly the kind of venue for really serious thoughts. Ilang beses na rin akong nagpost ng personal stuff on Plurk only to get a wise-ass comment from one of our friends.

This exchange is making me think of going back to LJ tuloy hahaha. Kaso wala rin kasing nangyayaring exciting enough sa akin to blog about. Pero sige, I think I'll try again 🙂 It might be good to treat it as a journal ulit.
