Winners of the Belle de Jour and Navi Planners Contest
Gosh. Sorry for taking this long in deciding who the winners should be. It was yet another tough deliberation. (Isn’t it always?) This time it’s compounded by two other factors: my recovery from an illness and what’s been happening at the Metro Manila Film Fest 2010. (Ang Tanging Ina Mo for Best Picture??? Seriously???)
Anyway, I’ll just rant about the latter in another blog post. I, and my two other judges, delayed long enough. First, the Belle De Jour Planner goes to:
SpecialEducationPhilippines
“My 2011 New Year’s Resolution Inspired by Mel Levine’s Book Ready Or Not, Here Life Comes”
The judges each picked three of our favorites and this turned out to be one of the common denominators. Reason? The entry was very pro-active. We can all imagine the need for a planner with this one: work, graduate school, sports and socio-civic activities…
The write-up is not only very thorough, but also quite informative. We picked up a couple of things (strategies, if you will) about how organization skills help kids turn into productive adults in this tough society. We awarded points for the extra credits she raked in during the submission, too.
Next, the Navi planner goes to:
Inspirare
“On My New Year’s Resolution”
When I first came across Rod’s New Year’s resolutions post, I was immediately struck by his qualitative description of what goes on in a person’s head as s/he resolves to improve habits. Apparently, the two other judges managed to reflect on their own resolutions upon reading this entry as well. Parts of it can be taken as tips, maybe even as life lessons. The process he describes is almost like a spiritual journey, rife with realizations that go deeper than how we imagined our habits to be. Well, Rod, since you stated that you can go with either planner, you’ll be getting the Navi.
To the winners, please use this form to provide me with your full name, contact number and mailing address so that I can ship your planners ASAP.
Oh, it’s 2AM. I can finally sleep now. Goodnight, everyone, and thanks for participating! Reading all your plans, hopes and dreams for 2011 was an enlightening experience. =^.^=
