I lost four kilos…after pigging out. Wut???

Yet another super late post. I first stepped foot in a gym a couple of weeks ago. Doesn’t seem like a big deal, right? But, actually, whenever I hear the word “gym”, thoughts of lab rats running on treadmills pop into my head. These thoughts make me sleepy. Like…zzzzzZZZzzzz…

So yeah…up until two weeks ago, I was a gym virgin.

My sister and I have been living in our condo for more than a year now and one of the perks we have is free use of the gym. We just decided to take advantage of that perk recently, when I realized that I should stop making excuses and really get off my butt.

I had been going on a no-rice-during-dinner diet for three weeks and had only lost 2 pounds — much to my dismay. I felt so famished I would literally drool over Ro‘s and Michelle‘s food blog entries. Then Cris arrived from Canada and I completely threw away the blasted diet and shamelessly pigged out. So…off to the gym I grudgingly went.

I didn’t know that gym equipment could be this hi-tech. This treadmill actually lets me choose if I want to burn fat, do cardio or some serious training. It asks me for my age, weight, etc. etc. and then decides how much of a workout I need. It slows down the pace when it thinks that my heart rate has already reached its peak.

Super neat!!! (I still wish they’d put a DDR dance pad in there, though.)

After the workout, I weighed myself and found out that I had lost 4 kilograms. Um. I can’t have lost all of that with just 30 minutes on the treadmill. I barely perspired!

I wonder if my yoga session had something to do with it.

When I got back to the condo, I checked my Omron pedometer (I received this from the Mercury-Free event last month), which had been attached to me during my entire workout. It says here that I took 3,120 steps. That’s not enough. You’re supposed to take an average of 10,000 steps daily.

Hm. I should wear this pedometer whenever I go to the mall. I wonder how many steps an average maller takes…

    Kelangan pa rin mag-ingat kasi baka masobrahan na naman sa kain tapos sedentary na naman ako dahil sa UP finals.

    Yeah…but I think I'm gaining it back. Had a hard time getting into my jeans.

    Napuna ko na even if I don't practice yoga na , mabilis ako pawisan . Like when I jog last weekend, super pawis even if sandali ko lang ginawa un running mostly walking lol

    Talaga? Akala ko pag yoga talagang dapat ka pagpawisan. I will go to yoga class this Sat siguro, pero depending on if I finish my paper. Hehe.

    How are you fat? You're not fat! Anyway, I'm trying to lose some weight too. I'm also 120 lbs. haha!! I'm trying to do some inch loss. I have cardio'd for a month doing 3 kms and 45 minutes everyday on the treadmill… but nothing! I'm looking for a Pilates video.

    I'm small-boned. I'm not supposed to go beyond 110 lbs. ^^;;; My weighing more than Cha is a little bit shocking to me. But I'm about 111 lbs now, 3 lbs less than that last weigh-in. I still don't know how I'm doing it. Maybe it's because I'm moving around again (traveling from one place to the next).

    My thighs are still fat, though. Everything else shrunk except for that. @_@
