Qoola Yogurt + Fruit = Pure Heart + Pure Body

Most of my readers might notice that I visit a lot of yogurt shops. This is one dessert I have problems resisting. I do have my favorite yogurt places, Red Mango, FIC and Yoh-Froz are three. Qoola is not as popular as Red Mango, since it’s located in a far-off corner between Greenbelt 1 and 3. But I’m glad my yogurt buddies — Caloi, Emman and Dan — found this when Red Mango happened to be full.

I introduced my sister Alex to this treat last week.

Um. The cup pictured above is hers. I don’t like having too many sweets on top of my yogurt because it’s supposed to be a healthy dessert, right? Piling it with candies sort of defeats the purpose of having it in the first place.

Although…those mochi balls look rather irresistible. I just made sure to ignore the toppings while I was buying the creamy concoction.

I normally have my yogurt plain or top it with fruits. That’s it. I think I mentioned in my entry about Golden Spoon that I liked the idea of choosing from a wide selection of flavors. That way, I need not bother with toppings. Unlike Golden Spoon, Qoola’s flavors are limited (chocolate, regular and strawberry). I prefer Qoola, though, because it tastes slightly sour, which is how yogurt should be. It’s also a lot smoother than Golden Spoon.

Qoola is actually the first yogurt shop where I experienced filling in my own cup and weighing it instead of having to pick from standard sizes of small, medium, large. I know the concept is not uncommon — and Caloi does not like it because he feels like he’d eat too much — but I find its location appealing. It’s not always busy and there are a lot of green scenery surrounding it.

Speaking of green, they claimed that their utensils are made of biodegradable/compostable plastic. I’m not sure how true that is, but if it is true, I’m loving them already. You can see their list of recyclable, compostable and biodegradable items here.

Haha I don't like piling sweet stuff on my yogurt, too, that's why those are actually MOCHI BALLS. They're not sweet, they're made of rice. 🙂 Mochi is Japanese, siguro equivalent na natin dito yung mga kakanin, pero mochi isn't sweet at all unlike most of ours, 'cept for suman.

I know mochi and I'm very sure that brown stuff isn't it. LOL!

Yeah, graham crackers nga. Sobrang tamis kaya niyan. And yeah, wala pa akong nakitang mochi na hindi puti.

Except the one with peanuts na binibenta sa 711 in Laguna.

I remember eating at this place in QC (near ABS-CBN) where you also pay by weight…I forgot the name though.

Andy, the only other place I know is Tutti Fruitti but that's in G4.
