Toy Story 3

I don’t know if it’s obvious but I am not a fan of 3D features. Funny that I ended up working with 3D animators and helping them develop their training modules but I am a 2D animation lover. Although I do watch 3D motion pictures, these instances are very rare. So…I never really got to watch the first two Toy Story movies.

I don’t know what came over me recently but I just went to the theaters, on my own, and bought a Toy Story 3 ticket. Maybe it was my newfound love for Ed Catmull or the fact that Ken was so hilarious in the trailer.

Surprisingly enough, I actually enjoyed Toy Story 3! I don’t know the characters, but I love the visuals, the playful fantasies, the comedy and even the dramatic parts. I probably would not be able to relate to the earlier installations of Toy Story but this one is all about growing up, looking back at your roots, and leaving a legacy. If parents want to look for moral lessons, there are plenty — both for the young and the young at heart. It also doesn’t hurt that the characters look so adorable and cuddly!

Oh and…Buzz Lightyear’s Spanish mode was friggin’ side-splitting! The downside to watching this alone was that I thought my sides would burst, keeping all that laughter in, because I had no one to laugh with. Gosh.

i think this was the best among the three toy story movies…the animation and the story was close to perfect šŸ™‚

i hope they don't ruin it by making a fourth.

TS3's really epic on so many levels.. especially Spanish!Buzz. He's awkward, amorous and embarrassing all at the same time. XD

Also, I think I sobbed like a baby in the cinema. T.Tb

Whoa! Oo nga noh. Anlaki laki niya dun at antagal tagal niya pero di ko siya na-link sa Totoro na anime. Then again ang distributors naman ng Ghibli in the US is Disney talaga.
