Twilight (Movie 2008)

Rating: ★★★★
Category: Movies
Genre: Romance

In a nutshell, though, I think the movie was visually — and aurally — beautiful. Very old school, even. Kind of reminds me of Ice Castles and Somewhere in Time. I just wish such artistry could’ve been done on a more deserving story.

exactly. nakakatawa, same words tayo halos ng ginamit while i was watching it yesterday. cinematography AND colors, which i forgot to mention in my review, haha.

even nicco was impressed. feeling nga lang niya nabobo siya sa kwento.

oh and natuwa nga pala ako sa baseball scene and yung maaga nilang pinalabas yung antagonists. kasi sa book, pucha! last 20 pages na lumabas ang mga leche tapos bitin sa action sequences!

Very generous sa rating Miss Bea! Yehey! Ako, ewan ko ba, I wanted to enjoy it pero I'm such a book loyalist. I know I shouldn't compare pero.. Argh! And the Vidprod person in me, sobrang puna ko sa acting (although Edward played by RPattz is FTW!) and I think over-directed. But! I did enjoy some scenes, unlike the others, epic failure yung movie sa kanila! Haha!

BASEBALL SCENE FOR THE WIIIINN! =))

that's what i meant when i said it needed a commercial director. not over-directed, kasi yun talaga ang forte niya. mga indie na malalim. masyadong artistic yung director nito when the book is very commercial.

meep. there's a certain age group that the book is meant for. in my opinion, the movie is better than the book because they removed so many of the cringe-inducing icky mushy dialogues that made the book shallow. and because the director specializes in movies that aren't very commercial (her approach is very indie), nabawasan yung kababawan ng book.

(out of the three i've read, pinakagusto ko yung 3rd because meyer improved her action-writing.)

the color; yes sobrang agree, but cinematography, medyo unsatisfactory since parang may pinaggayahan na movie, di ko lang alam kung anong movie un pero meron talaga… tama si karwash, it's a 5 star to those who havent read the book yet, pero kung nabasa mo na ung libro, naku, medyo disappointing since marameng binago and i know binago un for the sake of the movie pero para saken kulang talaga. one thing i found very baduy is the scene where naamoy nung isa na human pala tapos the way they posed was very baduy, there wasn't even an attempt to make it out of the ordinary, just 2 groups of vampire hissing and making kengkoy facial expressions and poses. hehehe. (just my opinion tho)

+1 on the baseball scene. hehehe!

i like! pero yeh a bit over-rated. good thing we didn't bother watching it on its premier night where some people paid 800 for a ticket at gb.

Ah yes, cinematography and score was superb! Baseball scene was also my favorite.. sobrang suspense sa part na yun.. napakapit pa ako sa twin sister ko, hahaha. Cast was great, they really fit their roles.

Kawawa ang Yahoo, parati na lang Google ang ginagamit for search engine! Hahaha.. I'm eager to watch New Moon.. grrr.

Basta sakin si Cedric Diggory pa rin siya hahaha na nabuhay at naging Vampire pag katapos papatay ni Voldemort gahaha, HOT niya. In fairness I did not read the book nor was I interested in reading it pero this sorta reminded me of Interview with the Vampire well sorta lang kaya I kinda like the whole love story between Bella and Edward. It was simple and interesting.

I don't want to say anything about the cinematography and other technical stuff nag sawa na ako nung college sa kaka observe nun, I watch movies cause I wanna feel the story and romance between the characters…

remember when you asked if the movie is good? it took me awhile to answer you but when i was ready to answer, you stopped me. i really don't know how to answer you then. i blamed myself for reading the book first. hehehe! but i can't complain about the movie since i've fallen head over heels with robert pattinson. this time, when friends ask me about the movie (which by the way i saw twice already), i answer them to watch the movie first before they read the book. edward cullen a.k.a. robert pattinson… ROCKS!!!

if he did, that would mean he prefers the mushy stuff in the books than the abridged version in the movie. hahahaha! gawsh, JC, i didn't know you had it in you. and it's ok, kasi marami namang fans yung book eh.

ahh…one other comment…minsan hindi consistent ang editing.

I am so eager to finish the book before seeing the movie.. Mukhang mali ang ginawa kong yun. I've been hearing a lot of negative reactions from my office mates. It seems like hindi sila natuwa sa movie. At siguro mas inis sila coz it was their girlfriends who insisted watching the movie. LOL.
