Meet Shin-Chan: Yet Another New Boyfriend
Shin-Chan is my new Canon EOS 450D. He joins Mi-Chan (my Macbook) and Feenie-Kun (my DS) in my Harem.
Bought him for roughly PhP42,000 and he came with the following accessories:
Zoom Lens EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
Wide Strap EW-100DBIII
Battery Charger LC-E5E
Battery Pack LP-E5
Interface Cable IFC-200U
Video Cable VC-100
Software
Patriot 2GB SD Card
A Canon / Dark Knight Back Pack (promotional thing for the movie)
And I bought a Hoya UV Filter for my lens for around P500.
I’m still a bit confused with all the things I have to press. Thought going digital would be easy but it looks like there are just so many things to operate. Pardon my ignorance because the last camera I held was a Nikon FM10 SLR and the only thing that I had a remotely difficult time with was making sure that I maximize my rolls of film (by applying a certain technique while loading them).
The lens are w00t! And the shots look so alive. It has an automatic depth-of-field setting except that I have to study it first. It keeps giving depth to the wrong object. (Hahahahahaha!) And you can actually see it with your very eyes through the viewfinder, without having to look through the LCD preview!
Anyway, I’d have to read the manual thoroughly and I’m still learning how to properly handle him. I mean, just like in any new relationships…we’re in the getting-to-know-you phase.

life was so much easier when it's just the ISO, shutter speed and aperture (tapos tinitingnan ko lang yung + o – para malaman kung ma-under exposed or overexposed ako), tapos pinakamahirap na yung pag-load ng film. sana one day masanay na rin ako sa digital. i'd prolly have to look for a particular setting na hiyang ako.

July 27, 2008 at 11:35 pmhahaha. alamo dyan ako natatawa. kagabi ko lang na-realize that AV is aperture priority and TV is shutter priority. shempre sa isang tingin, malay ko ba that TV is shutter priority (di na lang kasi ginawang SP, hahahahaha). i totally hate reading technical manuals pa naman and Canon's isn't as reader-friendly as Mac's.
