Fun Factor at Sean Lim’s Xenoa Premiere
|Genre:||Science Fiction & Fantasy|
I was so excited when my boss told me that we were supposed to wear Sci-Fi glam to my colleague Sean Lim’s premiere. Got metallic stuff and also did Daniel’s (3D professor Daniel Enriquez’s) make-up. Unfortunately, it seems like only three people there ACTUALLY KNEW what sci-fi glam is. Gerard was in business attire because he was really on business…there were people wearing sci-fi outfits, but not sci-fi glam.
Anyhoo, I still had a lot of fun at the premiere (the fun factor is what I’m rating). I was just disappointed with SM Megamall’s projector and screen. The movie didn’t appear as glamorous as it did when I was watching the technical team edit it. The colors looked washed out and the text looked really pixelated. I also have small issues with the story flow (and gawd, the makeup! Why is Isabel Granada sleeping with 80s blue eyeshadow on?) but I really am proud of how Sean was gutsy enough to do this project. The musical scoring was superb and the camera angles were great (I noticed that Sean’s scenes are reminiscent of HK movies), even if he had to adjust a bit because of logistical and technical limitations. Small steps, I suppose. At least he’ll know what to do with the sequel.
Gambatte, Sean Lim! May you make more movies! ^_^
