I’d Give My Life For You – Minako Honda
One of her last performances before she died of leukemia. Minako Honda was Japan’s Lea Salonga. Her performance here, 12 years after she first played Kim, is nowhere near as good as when she was in perfect health, though. Her sharps and flats are totally discernible in this video.
Anyhoo, if you want to hear her other stuff:
On My Own (Les Miserables) – If you thought the Westerners who played Eponine had such small high-pitched voices (childlike), you’ll find that they sound bass compared to Minako Honda’s Eponine. Hahaha!
I’ll Give My Life For You (Miss Saigon) – She sounds a lot better here, despite the big 90s hair.
