Boracay Birthday 2010: Le Soleil Hotel
Talk about super late post. This trip happened LAST YEAR. It was my first time in Bora, but I never got to blog about it…because I’m sometimes like that. (I haven’t even blogged about my December 2010 food trips. Haha!)
I was rummaging through my photos (to clear some of my hard disk space) when I found these. I must say that this was the best birthday I’ve ever had. Actually, my last three birthdays had been quite memorable and exciting. Since I’m celebrating yet another one next week — and in fact having a contest for it — I’m hoping to gain another new birthday experience. This was the week when Rowena, my sister Alex and I were in Bora but we weren’t staying in the same area.
Anyhoo, first I’ve gotta talk about the hotel, Le Soleil. We booked late, actually, so most resorts were full to the brim. We got a 3 days/2 nights package that came with breakfast, dinner and FREE MASSAGE! We also had complimentary welcome drinks, which are a staple among all the Boracay resorts.
Um. We weren’t able to take photos of our breakfast buffet because we were so hungry that we’d forget. But we were able to take photos of our dinner buffet.
The room itself is already very relaxing as it has provisions for tea and stuff.
There isn’t any view here, really. The window just adds some sense of space. We’re not really too concerned about what the room contains, though, because it doesn’t make sense to stay in the hotel when you’re in Boracay. We just love the amenities. Which is a good thing.
This is also where we had our free massage. It felt so great that we fell asleep.
The hallway leading to our room. Though the hotel’s exterior is nothing to rave about, I like its warm interiors. They really live up to their name, which means “The Sun” in English.
Our dinner. I’m a seafood addict and I could never get enough fresh oysters. Their house iced tea is also very refreshing.
This feast was laid out on the beach. That was a wonderful, I must say. You can feel the breeze while enjoying your meal.
Leche flan for dessert. Good thing they came with cherries.
After dinner, we spent a few minutes lounging by the poolside, which looked great at night.
Truth be told, I find the 3D/2N stay a tad too short. Perhaps a week here might also seem too long. Around 4-5 days should be enough. Boracay is such a relaxation paradise that I really felt my worries go away. I nearly forgot about my academics and work when I was in Bora. It was truly a magical birthday.
Up next: our Boracay sailing! =^.^= That was what I enjoyed most. Hehe.

February 25, 2011 at 7:17 amYou're right. 3 days is too short 🙂 5 is just perfect, but longer than 5 days, I go crazy with boredom already. There's only so much drinking and lounging around you can do 😛

February 25, 2011 at 9:30 amI imagine I'd go crazy with boredom, too. Especially since I left my laptop in Manila. Haha!

February 25, 2011 at 9:36 amI could never bring myself to take my laptop to Boracay. I'm scared my bags might fall off the boat or the sand and sea water might ruin the insides 😛

February 25, 2011 at 9:39 amHaha! Me naman, I just don't want to bring work with me. So yeah, I think 4-5 days should be enough just to unwind before going back to the grind.
