Help promote bone health awareness and get a chance to win Anlene gift packs

Β *Ahem* Don’t mind the kitteh. I was doing test shots of the Anlene packs when Kirara emerged from her refuge behind the blinds. As you can see, she has that “my human is doing product shots again” look on her face.

Anyway…

It’s been a while since I last posted about bone health and I’ve been wanting to promote the information I’ve learned about calcium from the last Anlene event I went to (with guest speaker Senator Pia Cayetano). It’s a good thing Franco of Bridges sent me a package of Anlene boxes to help me boost awareness. He left a sweet note that reminded me to drink milk for stronger bones and to remember that osteoporosis is preventable. I’d like to share this fact with my readers as well.

Coincidentally, my parents and siblings were talking about the benefits of full cream milk versus skim milk when I unearthed the boxes of Anlene. My Dad, being a senior citizen, was delighted, while my Mom regretted the fact that she had just bought cartons of another brand.

We have a loooot to give away (because I don’t think we could finish all of them before they expire). How to get hold of them? Read on.

What we have here are two kinds of Anlene. There’s the regular one, which is recommended for people aged 19-50 years. Then there’s the Gold one, which is recommended for people aged 51 onwards.

I’m giving away a total of 10 Anlene packs:
5 Anlene Gold
5 Anlene original formula

The mechanics:
On the comment box below, please share your bone health / calcium story. (Basically why you want or need Anlene.) Of course, you need to state which type of Anlene you want. That’s it.

I’ll be picking the 5 best answers for Gold and 5 best answers for the original formula.

Additional points:

Contest officially ends on May 1, 2011 at 5PM. Good luck!

One of the things I learned about our bones is that they start to deteriorate at age 25. You can read more about that, plus tips on how to stimulate their growth from my old post about bone health. That was a fun event/seminar and I really would like my readers to be as informed as I had been on that day.

hello, I want Anlene original because I want to fight for my health and live a good life. I currently have weak bone structure which is caused by my pre-existing thyroid problem. When I was younger, I had knee dislocation twice and was warned by my orthopedic doctor to keep away from extraneous activities. This limitation further progress to less self-confidence and poor social development. If I would have the chance to regain my strength through proper nutrition, it would be a great help. I believe that it is not too late to enjoy life free from bone problems like osteoporosis. So let me have that one please! ^^

Hello, daea_r! I haven't had raffles for the past few months since most of the prizes are a little bigger so my recent winners were picked by virtue of their responses (especially the ones who had won planners and the ones who won in my birthday giveaway).

The extra points are something of bonuses (like I'd give my students extra credits for spreading the word). This contest is very dear to me because I believe in both the product and in investing for our health. That's why I want to peruse reader responses.

You'll notice if I do a raffle contest…I normally don't require people to write for those. Hehe.

    I hope I answered your questions. πŸ™‚

anlene– i remember recommending this to my then-gf(ex-gf now) so that if we end up each other and have a baby, she'd not turned out to be kyphotic after her labor. i think this is a must for women's health since they are more prone to osteo and scolio.

and now that we didn't end up each other, i was wondering, did i recommend a wrong brand? LoL.

WHY I WANT OR NEED ANLENE?

Its simply because, I have seen some grandmothers slouch lower and lower as they grows older. I have a feeling she does not have enough calcium intake. I definitely do not want that to happen to me. So I want to ensure that I have enough. With the Anlene Concentrate, my calcium intake is given a boost and it can be further supplemented with other food that I take. Anlene is good for us. Having two glasses of Anlene every day helps us achieve the good bone nutrition we need.

I have a bone screening two years ago and the result shows that I'm near in having osteoporosis. It was too sad to think about it but the result gives me the confirmation why I thought I was so clumsy but the fact is that my bones are deteriorating. I was advised to take calcium everyday and to drink Anlene too. The doctor also says that it's only until 30 years old that our body can produce the needed calcium to support our aging body and I have just turned 30 this year.

I don't want to be sentimental but I think, I'm too young for this but I really don't want in my early age to wear crutches or to have hunchback like my grand mother. Maybe it does run in the family and I do hope that my condition will get better and I am hoping and praying that Anlene Original Formula will do the work for me.

i wanted this package for my mom. Mom's been working hard as a sewer at the now-defunct Triumph International Philippines for 26 years and been working since her age of 16 from other companies (she told me). She's been into 2 jobs at one time that she only have at least 4 hours of sleep a day plus doing a job of being a wife of a carpenter OFW and a mother of 3. Because of aging and lifestyle, she developed diabetes, arthritis, and heart problems. Thus, I wanted to give her a pack of this to at least ease her arthritis which I believe can be helped through Anlene Gold. If and ever possible, I wanted to have one for myself to eliminate myself of being in a high risk.

I will have a post on this some other time. πŸ™‚

the reason why i need anlene milk- Research says that asthmatic persons are prone to Osteoporosis so it is advisable to drink milk. I agree too, I am an asthmatic person since i was just 8 months old, i was hospitalized many times, my back slouches . I was advised to drink milk. I really need it for my maintenance and i want to prevent Osteoporosis. We know that milk is rich in calcium.

My top 5 reason I drink Anlene Original:

    5. Good for my health
    4. My family could benefit also from drinking anlene
    3. There is a high risk of osteoporosis if the bones dont get enough calcium
    2. My bone needs calcium especially my left ankle because it was fractured before during my martial arts training and anlene is a good source of calcium
    1. I want to continue my training and I dont get any younger so I need anlene to make my bones healthy and help me stay fit.

hi skysenshi.. πŸ™‚ well, everyone wants to be fit.. physically fit till they get old.. same with me. although im still 18 year's old, running 19.. i'm preparing myself psychologically and physically that may occur in our life here on earth.. but the scariest thing i've ever know about diseases that we can have when we grow old is having an asteoporosis.. and i am aware of it. since it occurs at the early age of 20+ well, i'm preventing it already by drinking vitamins that is good for our bones since i can't take anlene yet. probably, when i reach 19 this coming may, i'll be drinking anlene soon.. πŸ™‚

Back in high school, I refused my mom's warm glasses of milk because I thought I was getting fat with those full cream milks, and that she didn't want to give me skim or non-fat milk. Haha, those were the days of ignorance indeed. Right now, only a few days from obtaining my college degree and entering the professional health care industry, I realized how poorly I was addressing my health.

Seriously, I wasn't even paying attention to half of my professor-turned-doctors' lessons about maintaining good health. And now that I think about it, how am I supposed to provide care to patients when I am neglecting my own body's needs? I'm turning 21 this year, and from what I have heard, I'm at high risk for getting bone diseases because of the low calcium intake, and simply for being a woman at my 20's!

As I have been contemplating this for the past month and noticing how sedentary my lifestyle is, I decided to take things into action. I bought a beginner's yoga CD and I have been doing the yoga with increasing success for three weeks now. And I started eating a well-balanced diet with lots of green leafy vegetables. But I'm not sure if I can handle the pressure of gulping down milk again. I mean, I stopped drinking milk for almost seven years now!

But I guess that number really brought it upon me. Seven years of little or no calcium intake and where does that lead me? My bones must have been getting so fragile that I am thankful of not getting any serious injury.

I have so much catching up to do, and I bet that Anlene's Original Formula Milk can help me, since I was really considering their commercial on TV that in a month of drinking Anlene, the risk of developing osteoporosis is greatly decreased. If I can start on a healthier diet with milk, then I'll stick to it for the rest of my life, and not regret any bone disease that would have come because of neglecting my own bone health.

That's it I guess. I hope I didn't bore you with my story, I have a lot of free time right now kasi. πŸ™‚

I am in love with a rough sport. So rough, in fact, that I risk breaking my bones and over-stressing my joints whenever I do it. Brazilian Jiujitsu may be a wonderful martial art — great for fitness, improving flexibility, and developing strong core muscles — but playing it involves risks on my bones and joints. That is why I need Anlene Original badly! I don't want to grow old with a hunched back and a few broken bones here and there, so please make me win πŸ™‚

I've had scoliosis since I was a little girl. There was even a time when my doctor said that I had to wear a body brace or else it will worsen. Thank God that didn't push through. But still I endured months of therapy and until now I sometimes have trouble breathing because of my scoliosis. So it's really a must that I keep my bones strong and healthy and I do that by drinking milk two to three times a week. I've always loved milk so this isn't like an obligation that I have to do but something that I really love and enjoy.

I would really want to win the Anlene original formula.

Hello! I would like to have the Anlene Gold since this would be perfect for my mom. My mom’s birthday is coming on May 9, and I’m planning to have a birthday package treat for her. This would be a great addition as my mom has been an Anlene drinker for years, but has only recently switched from Original formula to Gold after feeling the effects of old age due to relatives commenting that she became hunched and shorter. She also has recently started to feel back pains and other signs and symptoms of aging. She regrets to not being a constant milk drinker then. Winning this prize will help encourage her to be a regular milk drinker.

It is important to teach kids at a very young age the importance of calcium and vitamin D. When I was a child, I really love drinking milk and when I got pregnant, I always drink Anmum that's why my teeth and bones are strong. But after giving birth, 2 years ago, I stopped drinking milk. Lots of problem occurred with my teeth, bones and even hair loss. My dentist and OB-Gyne told me to continuously drink milk every day. But I didn't. That's why I need Anlene, the original formula for me to gain back what once I've lost and bring back my beautiful skin care of milk. I didn't know that the best way to ensure that you get all the nutrients for a healthy body is by eating a healthy diet from all the food groups and of course, with milk everyday, that's why Anlene is there and invented for us moms and lolas out there. So keep it fun and positive and show how fun it is to eat a balanced meal with milk. I don't want to lose another tooth because of not drinking milk so I am starting right now for tomorrow I'll visit my dentist to extract my tooth. Awts!

Got this idea from my daughter. So here goes…

How Bone Health is as important as my hubby, my THE ONE πŸ™‚

    1. Bones are our structural support. Much like how I turn to my hubby whenever I need support, in any aspect. And I rely on his opinion too.

    2. Bones are attachment sites (for muscles, tendons and ligaments). Talk about affection! My THE ONE is the apple of my eyes, spanning three decades and counting… <3

    3. Bones are reservoirs (for vitamins and minerals). My hubby is a reservoir of love, devotion, loyalty, and all the traits that made him my THE ONE.

    4. Bones are shock absorbers. Poor hubby, when I need to vent, it's nobody nobody but him. Maybe he has a secret – cotton ear plugs perhaps?

    5. Bones withstand stresses from daily activities. I can only imagine the stresses hubby faced, all his own. Now, add all that were mine πŸ™‚

    6. Bones are living tissues. Men are too!

    7. Bones are constantly being rebuilt. Much like getting to know someone all over again, each day and every day. Yes, I mean YOU (to hubby).

Just 7 for now, it's my birthdate, so I hope it will be my lucky 7 too.

But there is ONE aspect of bones that definitely does NOT apply to my THE ONE.

Bones begin to breakdown from age 25. Our partnership has journeyed for over 3 decades. Let the numbers speak for themselves.

I want an Anlene Original since, but since my mom need it more than I do, I choose to have ANLENE GOLD.

She taught us that milk is not just for babies. In my teen years, she keeps on reminding me and my siblings not to forget to drink milk. During that time, we consume lots of milk everyday! During my pregnancy, she never failed to say how important it is to drink milk too. How important our health is. I grew up as milk drinker, it's healthy not fatty!

In 3 years time, she'll be a Senior Citizen. If there's one thing I can help her with… it is preventing osteoporosis!

She has always been my support and I want her to be as strong as possible.

My Lola will soon be retiring. After being in the government service since her dalaga days (and where she met my Lolo, in fact), we will be seeing more of her at home, than just in the morning, before leaving for work, and in the evenings, around dinner until just before retiring to bed.

My lola is one amazing woman. Lolo and Lola faced with a challenge when Lolo had a stroke a couple years back. But the strength of their support for each other was stronger than ever. Lola has been ever patient in being with Lolo for walks to slowly regain control of his leg muscles. This after, and concurrently with, months of physical therapy too.

My lola deserves this one little surprise, hoping I can make it here πŸ™‚ Wouldn’t it be terrific that before school again starts this June, I can make her a glass of warm milk each night? She can get a good night’s sleep AND have that fuzzy feeling πŸ™‚ What about a cold glass of milk after breakfast, to jumpstart her day?

    Why?

Because with this just one glass of Anlene, Lola can get key bone nutrients she needs each day. Two glasses a day for Lola, and she can start/continue her way to better bone health.

Because regularly drinking Anlene will complement their long walks together, as it will also help stimulate bone growth. And I’ve learned from Skysenshi’s bone health article that exercise also produces the happy chemicals. I want Lolo and Lola to be happy, especially now that the family is facing trying times.

Would have made an entry for me and my mom, but a few days ago, mom and I were talking about Lola, so I thought of making this entry for her.
