Pot Dog. Is this street food?

I usually do my groceries either at Rustan’s Magallanes or Robinson’s Pioneer. Since Cris had returned from Vancouver, Canada, she had been so hungry for Filipino food. She said that the KFC over there isn’t even half as good as the ones we have here. Hehe, MSG galore makes the difference?

Last week, she accompanied me while I was doing my groceries at Robinson’s Pioneer and she spotted PotDog. Apparently, it’s one of her favorite street food. Although…can we actually call this street food when it’s found on the side of an air conditioned grocery store?

I ordered fried potato slices. These are actually very yummy. I asked for honey-mustard dip to accompany this. The dip isn’t as rich as the ones offered by NYFD, but I’m happy because this doesn’t even cost anywhere near P50!

We shared these squid balls. I don’t want to sound disloyal to UP — I had always believed the vendors there sell the best fish and squid balls — but I think PotDog just topped them in terms of taste. I can’t explain it. These munchies taste like the crossbreed of fish and squid. Arrr!

I can’t explain why it’s like that since UP street vendors also combine fish and squid balls when cooking them but the taste don’t seem to get affected.

Cris ordered these crispy siomai and we shared a large iced tea, like I always do with Elvert. I’m not into pork so she had these all to herself. She dug in with so much gusto!

Of course, I can’t exactly leave without taking a photo of the stall and the ladies that man it. Wee!

That was actually a very fun experience. I hope to try other food stalls like this in the future. One of my resolutions in my “Eat, Pray, Love” endeavor is that I eat somewhere new at least once a month. =^.^=
