Pond’s Flawless White
I got this bundle as a prize for one of those things I wrote and submitted to a magazine. So yeah, it’s a freebie. The irony of it was that I was writing about the health benefits of organic products. One look at the set’s ingredients listing is enough to tell you that it’s far from being organic.
It took me a while to actually give it a try because:
- I invest a lot of money on self-tanners. Why would I want to reverse that by using whitening products? Isn’t it a bit silly to use these things when I’d be covering myself with bronzers before I go out of the house anyway?
- Pond’s has never been good to my skin. As a teenager, their facial wash caused me to break out. In my twenties, their Pond’s Cold Cream make-up remover — compounded by the fact that I’m allergic to most make-up — irreversibly ruined the texture of my face.
Anyway, I suddenly found myself on a tight budget one day, just when I had consumed the last drop of my moisturizer. So I thought that maybe I could use this. Thought that maybe it could get rid of my moles or dark spots. Thought that maybe, this being the 21st century, Pond’s had stopped coming up with disastrous formulas.
I should’ve followed my instincts. They’re usually more sensible than my brain.
The steps:
- Anti-Spot Intensive Whitening Serum
- Light Infusing Under-Eye Cream
- Visible Lightening Daily Lotion (daytime) / Re-brightening Night Treatment (night)
I felt stinging upon application. Followed by itchiness. And an entire day’s worth of scratching. Next, my eyes felt so dry I could hardly open them. As in, it actually hurt to open them! I thought that maybe I had turned into a 50-year-old overnight. Note: My mom is 55 and there are days, especially when she lets her nice, naturally wavy hair down, when she looks 28. She took pity on me and gave me a jar of her unused Clarins day cream as she has stopped using moisturizers altogether. That partially healed me.
The freebie set actually came with a 2-way foundation but the color is “Ivory White”. I can imagine looking like a glow-in-the-dark floating head if I were to use that. I mean, heck, the rest of my body has been tanned!

I don’t know why it didn’t work for you but POND’S flawless white is the best skin care I’ve ever tried. It does whiten my already fair complexion into my most beautiful rosy white skin and it does reduces dark spots and blemishes with continued use. I notice people stare at how beautiful my skin looks. I live in the Philippines and fair skin are more preffered here than tanned skin so that explain it.
I wish you will give it a try because I’ve seen dramatic results in less than 7 days! Just a little bit patient and try to use it for 5 or better 7 days.
I’m a skincare fanatic too and I’ve tried Olay total effects which causes me pimples, Pure Zone works but does not really remove pimples as expected. L’OREAL Revitalift White is great but expensive and the results can be seen after 2 weeks unlike POND’S flawless white.
I’m planning to buy the entire set of POND’S flawless white this hot summer and they are on sale at Php100 off per cream. If you want to retire from having that tan skin and I’m sure you already been to the beach why not try it? Or maybe you can give it to me if you want…

Sis, when it hurts like hell to even open my eyes, I’m not about to suffer for a whole week just to see if it’ll get better. Especially since I’ve had permanent facial injuries from other Pond’s products before. Hahahaha! I’ve also seen the pictures — the pain and stress the product caused were very visible. I gave the product away to a student who’s into whitening. (My tan is fake-ish, by the way, because I’m actually afraid of the sun…hence, no beaches for me.)
I guess it just works differently on each skin type. I’m very sensitive. So far the only products that have really worked wonders on my skin are Origins and VMV Hypoallergenics. I’m going back to Origins. Right now, I’m trying the Olay Regenerist line, very potent, but it’s too rich for summer.
I’m using L’Oreal Pure Zone toner, too, but only at night because it really does dry my face out (and I’m combination-oily), although I’ve noticed it made my stubborn cystic pimples disappear in less than 2 days. When I don’t have pimples, I use the L’Oreal Derma Genesis toner.

if those three were the choices, i'd say go for olay. i couldn't stress enough how pond's melts your face and l'oreal…i haven't seen them do anything for me yet although i've tried several of their eye creams.

September 9, 2010 at 3:38 pmu know what, my mom's doctor told me and my mom not to use pond's products- should never use them and for some reasons that i cant translate- (i am sr, my mother tongue is not english)u should not use it even when ur skin is suitable with it or not. a friend of mine after 2 years using pond's facial cream, her skin face now is just so thin and i can see the blood vessels very well :(( her skin's also very sensitive to the sun now 😐

OMG. That is scary! Thanks for the warning, though I really do not like Pond's no matter how many of my friends say they like it. None of my relatives' skins are happy with it.

September 10, 2010 at 3:54 pmyes, though i am not sure if what our doctor warned is true or not, i still tell my friends whenever i hear them talking about ponds. me myself used to use pond facial cream 3 years ago (i cant remember what version, it's pink and it's claimed to be whiten the skin) and i got lots of blackheads the following week :(( i stopped using it immediately. however, i sometimes cant get over the interesting ads on tv, and again, buy ponds product, but never use them for more than 2 times :)) (i admit i really like the facial wash which is gel-like and has red, white scrub, it smells so good :D)

September 10, 2010 at 8:52 pmI've had too many bad experiences with Pond's so I have an inclination to believe your doctor. 🙂
