Dealing with self-inflicted shopping ban. Plus Ensembles and Naturalizer.

Got this idea from the fashion bloggers on my Google Reader. Haha! I imposed a shopping ban on myself because I had been doing retail therapy for stress relief that I almost went out of control. Good thing I did some spring cleaning and unearthed a couple of clothing gift certificates. I went to Ensembles in SM Megamall to use one of them instead of pining over things I wanted to buy but can’t.

I didn’t think the sensible office clothes would actually fit me — given that my department’s fashion sense is rather…let’s just say we always break the official dress code —  but I found one that looked good on me. It was rather conservative but it framed my shape just fine.

Since Ensembles was on sale, I had a little extra for a cute trinket.

This has various symbols on it, like charms: a couple of unmatched shoes, a butterfly, a heart, a leaf, and some other trimmings that I can’t identify but look adorable anyway.

Um. Well. I actually sort of broke my shopping ban in a major way, but it was because I realized that I had no decent school shoes. All my footwear are stuff I’d wear on art exhibits or events. In short: those shoes (like the ones I wore at the Nuffnang The Social Network premiere) are too eccentric for someone who’s supposed to be a schoolmarm. Har har. So I got these:

Well, that’s just the box. Naturalizer is known for being the ultimate in comfort. I have never heard anyone say that they’re not comfy. In fact, anyone who has ugly feet — that hurt all the time —  like I do, should get one of these.

These are about P4,000 and they’re a little too big for me, but I cannot handle tight shoes anymore. My mom has bunions and I’m afraid my feet will become like hers if I don’t take care of them. I already feel a lot of pain on the sides of my feet.

I like this pair because they look conservative but not boring. Though some of Naturalizer’s designs are trendy, especially the clogs, it looks like everyone else already wears those styles.

Hm. Thing is, I realized too late that these shoes have heels. No matter how soft the cushions are — and I hafta tell ya, my feet were feeling pretty well cushioned — if you’re not standing the way people are supposed to stand, your feet are still going to hurt after a few hours. I really should have gotten flats that don’t look like flats (so I’d still be following our dress code).

Anyway, I’m still happy with these shoes. I can walk in them for hours as long as I don’t overdo it.

I like Naturalizer too! One of the two pairs of shoes I use for school during dress code days. Hehe. 🙂

The price for these comfy pairs is definitely worth it. 😀

Ang most expensive pair of shoes ko Melissa. 6K sha tapos di ko mashado nasulit kasi masakit. Ito at least puwede siya sa paa ko ng matagalan. Hahanap nga ako ng bagsakan nito eh para makamura hehe.

    Hi, Missy S!
Yeah, had to do that because I've been spending quite a lot lately. It's the stress. Hehehe. I'm not in the habit of window shopping so this is actually quite difficult.

I wear flats now all the way. I don't care about the dress code. Hehe. But then when I'm at the 4th floor I tiptoe whenever I see either the President or the HR Director. Para hindi halata hehe. I'm now addicted to Anthology Shoes. Super comfy flats! Price ranges from P2K-P4K.

They're super comfy and super tibay! I've had some pairs that got soaked wet in the rains and mini floods, and they're still alive and kicking! Worth it, promise 🙂
