Bend Accessories by Francine Fajardo

I love it when I hear about how my former students are doing! And I love it 10,000x when I learn that some of them have become entrepreneurs.

This bracelet arrived in my mail just last week. It was courtesy of my former student, Francine Fajardo, who graduated from Asia Pacific College’s School of Multimedia arts program a few years back.

I remember she had the cutest, most unique portfolio. At that time, interactive portfolios weren’t the norm yet but she wanted to do her best so I taught her how to make simple animations through Macromedia Director. What was fascinating, though, was her folio’s packaging. Her love for fashion already shone through! It was the only work among her batch that you could carry like a bag (and it looked like a fashionable bag, too)! Fast forward to now…
She’s been busy making necklaces and bracelets that you can order online. Apparently, she has been working with beads since she was around 9-10 years old. The love for this craft was awakened by a school project and she found herself selling accessories to her aunties and friends.
She momentarily forgot about her beads when she entered college and became a multimedia artist. Then, in her last job, she started creating accessories again and selling them to her colleagues. She also began attending workshops just to refresh herself then decided to become a business woman for good.
I love how nice this bracelet looks like up close. And she makes tons of other designs. This girl is so creative!
Here are some other samples that can be found on Bend’s official facebook page:

One of my favorite designs because of how the metal was woven into the colors of calm.

The padlock bracelet gives me the idea that this could also be used as a charm bracelet. Hmmm. 😀

This is also so cute! The colors are bold but you can probably wear this at the beach.
There are other more designs, especially for the necklaces. You can see them featured at Bend’s Weebly site.

Update 09.18.2013: I got sent this watch and when I opened the package, I was so glad to see that it matched my nautical outfit:

As for me, I’m just happy to see Francine succeed in her dreams. This is one girl who’s so hardworking — despite all odds, I’d like add — that I’m sure she’ll reach greater heights.

Ang ganda nga niya. Natutuwa ako sa bracelets na may watch. I don't normally wear accessories kasi that have no function and the watch/bracelets are perfect! 😀
