Army Navy Burger and Burrito at Harbor Square

Last week, Cris and I set up a business meeting with my PhD classmate Jenny. Jenny suggested we go to Harbor Square, near the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Harbor Square is a place I had missed so much as I used to frequent it when I was still a faculty member of the College of Saint Benilde.

Army Navy Burger and Burrito seems to be a new installment. It’s located at the second floor of Harbor Square and offers a breathtaking view of the Manila Bay.

Just one of the wooden boats I noticed. I like that it didn’t seem to be painted with synthetic colors so I took a photo of it.

Cris and I were actually curious about the Freedom Fries (PhP60) but they had run out of stock. It was apparently a hot commodity during the holidays. We settled for onion rings (PhP60) instead.

Cris ordered Chicken Quesadilla (PhP135). This is tortilla filled with chicken (of course!), onions and green bell pepper. It came with a half cup of light salsa and generic french fries.

I was craving burritos, though, so I immediately got myself a Vegetarian Burrito (PhP135).

Hmmmm…That looked really yummy.

This is made of Spanish rice, beans, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, cilantro and guacamole. I absolutely love guacamole. I usually order lots of it, if the restaurant allows.

Okay, overall, I told Jenny and Cris that I find the food to be bland. Army Navy is Tex-Mex after all, and I guess I shouldn’t have expected it to be as full-flavored as a real Mexican restaurant.

I’d go back to this particular branch of Army Navy, though. Can you see the sky behind Jenny? The sun had just set and it was starting to turn into this beautiful shade of blue before going completely dark. I’d certainly go back for this. The view reeled me in as it provided me one of the most relaxing dinners I’ve ever had.

Rod joined us later and ordered a huge burger. I was so engrossed in the conversation that I actually forgot to take his photo. Wah!

Bland is the right word for it, I just love the LiberTea and the Onion Rings. 🙂

I would have tried the LiberTea if I weren't counting the liters of water I need to chug each day. (3 liters) Wah!

LOL I'm actually fond of Army Navy. I prefer their Freedom Fries anytime, and their breakfast burrito (the one with egg, chorizo and longganisa bits, I think?) which is really heavy and really rich. Still, if it's value for money, I'd take Army Navy over McD's any time. XDD

I kinda don't like their freedom fries, but that's just me. I like my fries plain and soggy, just like McDonald's 🙂

I like their quesadilla, iced tea and milkshake. Their burger's good, but I prefer Wham or Charlie's.
