Siblings Lucy and Edmund Pevensie return to Narnia and reunite with Prince Caspian. They accidentally bring along their brat of a cousin Eustace Scrubb, who repeatedly complains about being abducted. This time around, the remaining Pevensies are called to find the seven swords of missing lords that were banished when Caspian’s uncle usurped the throne (see The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian for reference). The swords are to be used for defeating an ultimate evil that resides in a dark island. This journey brings them to Aslan’s country, which is located at the very end of Narnia.

Hm. While I do believe the first Narnia movie is arguably the best, this third installment isn’t so bad in terms of entertainment value. I do miss Peter and Susan, the Pevensie older siblings, but at least Prince Caspian, played by Ben Barnes, of the second movie is here. More eye candy goodness.

Other mythical creatures appear — a dragon and a really fugly sea serpent, in particular. To me, these are welcome additions, since they are part of many an ancestral folklore.

No need to watch this in stereoscopic 3D, although I did because I didn’t have any choice. Only the 3D theater had the most favorable screening schedule.

Kilig moments: Um. I think Prince Caspian and Edmund look good together. (Don’t kill meeeeee!)
